  1. I just checked it and it plays for me. There’s no video, just audio.
It was posted by Sony Music. I don’t know whether there’s some kind of national block that prevents it from being seen outside of Australia.

    Does this work?

  2. Well, thanks for trying anyway. This new link for the video renders,
“The uploader has not made this video available in your country.”

The original link message simply said, “This video is not available.”

I looked around and can’t find that song on the internet to hear, but I
found other songs by Jessica Mauboy. And she is a very good singer.

  3. It’s unfortunate that you can’t access the video and hear that particular version, but I’ve posted another performance in the next post by the original Aboriginal singer, who sadly died earlier this year aged only 46.

  4. Wow.
    So powerful.
    So true.

I’ve scheduled a post including this video to be “published” in a few days time. I already have a queue of things waiting to be posted over the next couple of days.

  5. I ran across a novel called “Secret Daughter” — which turned out not to be the same story. Then I discovered Mauboy has done a number of shows by other names (besides the tv show, The Secret Daughter).

  6. Yes, she’s done a couple of movies, Bran Nue Dae and The Sapphires.
She was the runner up in one of the early series of Australian Idol and is an entry in the next Eurovision Song Contest. Previously she performed at that event as a guest and after that, somehow, Australia relocated to Europe and has competed in every contest since then.
