Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
The words of Jesus are really quite awesome.
(And that video is a good thing to see and hear.)
I’m just trying to figure out how Jesus’s words about hospitality and provision, and his warnings about withholding them, can so easily be dismissed by those professing Christians who are demonising people fleeing the violence in their homelands.
