Chosen King

Caesar

Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?”
The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!” (John 19)

And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the nations which your fathers served or devotion for the land in which you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. (Joshua 24 – “paraphrased”)

It’s more like “We have no king but NewsMax and FOXnews and Drudge.” You know, because they’re supposedly not media.

I was going to say the conservative movement in the U.S. has devolved over the last few decades, but my sons remind me I was naive then; there have always been extremists on both “sides” (with a two-party system). I do think, though, that some people have gotten worse instead of better (or even instead of staying close to the same). Even patriotism and pride in our form of government disintegrate because of what is held to, something like power or bravado or “winning” (almost Charlie Sheen style). I’ll never forget FOX bringing on a convicted pimp after he’d served his time — promoting him because he’d figured out a way to pursue his same interest (women for money) legally.

The end of this clip is cut off; she went on to point out that the problems in Russia will be difficult for regular people, not so much really for Putin (most likely). [But, what does it matter? He’s the “big cheese” the “bmoc” — why SHOULD he be punished for his success?]
