OUR DEAR AMERICA – Where do you go From Here? (recommended article)

It seems Andrew Strom has turned aside from John the Baptist TV and has returned attention to his RevivalSchool site. But I’m still banned and was unable to add a comment to the following article which I found to be mostly very perceptive.

It is clear from a few of the later comments that a few people STILL can’t see beyond earthly politics and patriotism to GOD’s Kingdom.

OUR DEAR AMERICA – Where do you go From Here?
by Wolfgang and Mercy Simson.

Today, Obama has been re-elected; all the efforts of many Christian leaders, prayer movements,  prophets” and “concerned Americans” who have lobbied, written appeals, articles, books, letters – some have even done films – to warn not to vote for him have come to nothing. Many of them have behaved as if the future of the Kingdom of God is at stake. Well, it is not.

  1. The core of the matter is the way in which we view our country.

For two hundred years Americans have seen their land and ‘God’s Own Country,’ and attributed to the land, and the nation, a status above and beyond that bestowed by God on Israel. In Deut.28 the Blessings & Curses passage, Israel may be subjected to curses for disobedience. I see nothing of that in the American psyche.

Indeed, a post of mine reminding Americans there is one Land owned by God and leased out indefinitely to the Children of Israel. One hill, Tzion, on which He has placed His Name. And it ain’t America.

Let’s get real here, the divide between earthly kingdoms and the Kingdom of God is as great as that between Lazarus and Dives – uncrossable.

Britain a century ago had much the same reasoning; supreme power, economic engine to the world, Christian Country, home of the brave and land of the free. It was all lies concocted by an aberrant state for it’s own purposes, as we witnessed after the First World War. The Second War sealed our fall from grace, an economic wreck with empire gone, socialists in power and all the old order in tatters. We’ve never recovered and never will in the Christian era. Our time is passed.

America’s time is passed too! We await the arrival of the next great power, be it human or Satanic, for it is not yet that Messiah returns. But that’s another subject.
